About us
We exist to ensure that all communities in South Sheffield are well served and develop to become successful, vibrant and sustainable communities where people choose, and are proud, to live and work.
Our objectives
To bring together local organisations and lead collaboration so they can:
- Attract income, to deliver services and projects together
- Have a stronger community voice, making sense of local views and needs in order to help public services deliver more effectively.
How we achieve them
- Members, partners staff and board members come together at our Members' Conferences to provide the focus and direction of the Partnership.
- Information is shared via our networking meetings, publications, reports, newsletters and website to give every organisation in the Partnership access to news and a chance to comment on issues which affect their communities.
- Networking opportunities through Members' Conferences and BME Cluster Network help organisations to help each other.
- Procurement, and income generation support is available to prepare organisations for the future, so that their value-driven approach and community connection is not endangered.
- Community organisations are supported and strengthened in areas where the infrastructure is less strong, so that every community has someone to represent its needs, no community is forgotten, and everybody gets a voice.
- Joint bids and tenders bring in funding to improve services for those that need them the most.
- Partnership networks are organised in broad strategic themes aligned to the Local Strategic Partnership structure, so our structures are in place and ready to react to citywide strategic decisions and funding priorities.
- Representation for our members on citywide strategic boards and steering groups ensures that the voice of our communities are heard at the top.
Who we are
We are a partnership of organisations and enterprises who share the common goals of improving services in South Sheffield and giving a voice to its communities. This includes Forums and Trusts representing neighbourhoods, an aray of service providers working throughout these areas and a B&ME Cluster Network, representing South Sheffield's Black and Minority Ethnic communities.
The partners within the Partnership form the Membership. The membership elect and influence a board of Directors who support and represent them in the strategic direction of the Partnership, and watch over its legal obligations. The Directors in turn employ a Staff team to put the objectives of the Partnership into practice, with the help of monitoring, finance and IT support from Manor and Castle Development Trust. The staff team works to serve the needs of the members by giving them access to networking and support services.
The Partnership also has external partners who it works with strategically to influence and gain insight into citywide strategy.
