Your Community Voice: Forums and Trusts
The Partnership believes that having strong independent Forums or Trusts in each neighbourhood is the only way to ensure a strong voice for communities in greatest need. In 2001, Forums and Trusts in South Sheffield were invited to participate in the founding of the South Sheffield Partnership. Ten Forums, plus a cluster of BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) organisations, opted to join at the outset, and acted as Founder Members. Membership widened between 2005 and 2006 to incorporate Batemoor and Jordanthorpe, and Lowedges Forums. Membership has now been rolled out to include any organisation working in and for South Sheffield communities.
