Roshni - Sheffield Asian Women's Resource Centre

Roshni, based on London Road in Sharrow, has successfully established itself as a centre catering for the educational, social and cultural needs of primarily the South Asian female communities; working with them to develop appropriate services.

With an excellent reputation for social inclusion, the organisation provides valuable opportunities for statutory agencies to reach the Asian community. Roshni have developed services which bridge the gap between the local community and mainstream services. For the women who use the service, the organisation offers a stepping stone to the outside world, offering Information, advice and guidance on a range of issues.

The group sees two way access to information, multi cultural awareness, and knowledge of the Asian community as their strengths. Their potential to tap into a workforce of females wanting to enter the labour market offers one of their route-ways into procurement activity.
